The last week of December, Our Harvest became a moving crew as they transferred all of their Food Hub to a new location. Now located at the Incubator Kitchen Collective in Newport, Kentucky, they took all of Friday the 29th to load and unload trucks packed to the gills with product, equipment, and supplies. Their team made quick work of a big job getting our stuff out of the Freestore Foodbank warehouse. Now settled in their new space at the Incubator Kitchen Collective, they are quickly getting their operations set with a new cooler being built and upgraded lighting that will expand their storage capacity!
On a bittersweet note, the Our Harvest team will be suffering a big loss in mid-February with the departure of their stalwart CEO, Kristin Gangwer (3rd from the left in picture above). All of us in the CUCI co-op family feel honored and lucky to have worked with Kristin over the past 5 years. She has been with Our Harvest nearly from its inception and has been a pillar of the organization through Our Harvest's ups and downs. An irreplaceable asset and friend, she will be greatly missed. Applications for Our Harvest CEO are due February 5th. Job description here. Read her short goodbye below:
"Dear Our Harvest Community,
I have loved being part of the OHC team for the past 5+ years, but I’ve decided that I need to step back and let a new person with abundant energy and passion lead the charge going forward.
As such, we are seeking a unique individual with cooperative business experience, food system expertise, and an excitement and passion for leading this pioneering organization through a time of transition. We could use your help in finding a fantastic replacement — please help us spread the word! Applications due by Monday, February 5th. CEO job description here.
My last day with Our Harvest will be February 16th. I hope to see many of you before then, but if I don’t, please know that I have loved working with you and getting to know you. I hope our paths will continue to cross!
All the best,
Kristin Gangwer, Our Harvest CEO"
