Andres Contreras is CUCI's newest hire! Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Andrés earned my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Simón Bolívar University, a top-ranked public university in all Latin America. He has been involved in multiple social movements and organizations including being president of the Student Government. Before coming to Cincinnati to earn his Masters in Business Administration he decided to start a business in the education field to reduce education inequality starting with Venezuela. His MBA concentration is in Private Interest and Public Good, the first MBA student to fully pursue such a specialization.
As a part-time Financial Analyst and Co-op business consultant, he will be developing financial models to assess the viability of businesses interested in converting to employee ownership. Also, he will be providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs, improve financial performance, and improve business viability.
Intellectually, he is passionate about sustainable economic development, for-profit social entrepreneurship, and socioeconomic justice. Also, he is a runner and loves being outdoors and enjoys dancing merengue and salsa for fun.
